August 10th...already?

Yes, I know, it's been quite awhile since my last post. My apologies...I had a class to take last week and some much needed catching up on home things this past week. So, here are some pictures from late July and early August. These are pictures of the basement at the early stages of backfilling, I'll post updated ones later in the week. PJ and Phil have been hard at work backfilling the basement walls. The walls are rock solid now and it's amazing to see the structure there, even if it is below ground (for the most part.) The garage sand has been leveled and we now await the completion of the plumbing. After that gets put in we will be all set for the slab to be poured for the basement floor. That is scheduled for this Friday, August 15th. We're all excited for that process to start and Ben and I will be there to watch and later put our handprints in the cement, probably in the garage area where we can see them (we've toyed with the idea of footprints too.) Stop back this weekend to catch pictures of the slab cement being poured. After that has had time to cure and harden, sometime hopefully in the end of August, early September (yikes, that's school time already!) the top part of the house should be going up.
