September 8th pictures

Above are pictures from the beginnings of our geothermal system. Phil has been busy digging the nine foot trenches starting from the house all the way down to the driveway and the three trenches that will hold the coils. PJ has been helping him by getting the coils tied and ready to be placed in the ground. Sorry the pictures are dark, I took these after a late night at school, the sun went down on me quickly.

September 4th...the flooring starts

Today Matt and crew worked on the basement inside walls and the beginnings of the top floor. I love coming home from work to see how far they've gotten each day. PJ and Phil went to Duluth today to go shopping at Menards...purchased and picked up doors and geothermal tubing. The windows have been ordered and are at A-Plus, waiting to be delivered. The trusses have arrived and await their turn to go up. I can't wait to see the top walls go up to actually see a full scale of the house, even if it's a rough scale.

September 3rd...the framing starts

Today is September 3rd and Matt and Dave have started to put up the frame. It's so exciting to see the house take shape!

Cement slab is poured

The above pictures are all from Monday, August 18th, very early in the morning. Skip and crew came to pour the cement around 6:30 AM. They moved quickly and did a fabulous job!

Time sure does fly...

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. Had a little medical mishap, but it's fine now and school has started, so I'm busy busy busy. My school site is connected to our house site, just go to my profile and you can access my school page (if you want to check out what me and a bunch of little preschoolers are doing!)

After plumbing was put in Phil, PJ, Gary and Ben worked at covering the sand with the pink insulation and then the in-floor heating tubes. Pictures above are from this. Grandpa Eugene brought his firetruck over to help hose down the sand so that it was easier to work with. Benjamin could not help but run under the water as it was being sprayed across the floor. He had a great time in Great-Grandpa's truck too.
